In many instances PCC of environmental controls is required for 30 years or more at closed landfills. Maintenance funds are established to assure that this work is completed as required. Contracting PCC services provides the client with:
· Routine, scheduled care.
· Single source responsibility.
· Minimized time/personnel
requirements.
· Focused expertise.
· Potentially lower costs.
From our many years of experience with environmental cleanup and PCC
at landfills, SCS has developed specific programs, an organizational structure, and in-house resources to deliver superior, cost-effective post-closure operation, monitoring and Maintenance (OM&M) services. Since our founding in 1970, SCS has been a leader and innovator in the solid waste industry, with specialization in landfill gas control, landfill closure, and post-closure care. In 1985, our wholly owned subsidiary, SCS Field Services, was established to construct and operate landfill gas management systems. Since that time, SCS has added construction managers and superintendents who are experienced in constructing and operating landfill closure systems, and who have completed projects involving all aspects of landfill closure, PCC maintenance and remediation of contaminated sites.
SCS structures long-term PCC OM&M services by dividing work into the following:
· Routine OM&M.
· Non-routine scheduled
repair services.
· Emergency call-out and
repair services.
· Regulatory compliance.
· Corrective action.
· Reporting and negotiations with
regulators.
In furnishing these services, SCS provides efficient routine maintenance, cost-effective solutions to non-routine repairs, and rapid response to emergency call-outs. We also maintain an inventory of field equipment and spare parts that allows us to respond efficiently to any OM&M situation. Basic post-closure care services include:

· Final cover maintenance.
· Surface water
management.
· Landfill gas management.
· Air emissions control.
· Groundwater management.
· Leachate management.
· Ancillary systems management.
· Regulatory compliance/record keeping.
· End uses of closed landfills.
